A PST(Personal Folder) file is used by Microsoft Outlook to store the Outlook data. Other than the default PST file that Outlook uses, several other PST files can be created to store the Outlook data. These are useful for creating archives and backups of emails, calendars, contacts and projects to maintain data.
If you want to back up only some of your Outlook data, you can create a new backup .pst file of the selected items. This is also known as exporting .pst file data. How to Export .pst file data
Step1: Open Microsoft Outlook 2007. Click the "File" menu.
Step2: Select "Import and Export". Then select "Export To File" and click "Next."
Step3: Now select "Personal Folder File (.pst)" and click "Next."
Step4: Click "Browse" and select a location where you want to save the file in your computer.
Step5: Type a name for the file in the "File Name" field. And finally click "Finish".
How to Import .pst file
Step1: From the File menu, select the "Import and Export" option .Then select "Import from another program or file" and click the "Next" button.
Step2: Now select "Personal Folders File (.pst)" and click the "Next" button.
Step3: Select the desired PST file from the "File to Import" window and click the "Next" button.

Step5: After completing the import process, click the “Finish” button to close the Import/Export wizard.
