Error 0x80048002 is one of the common Microsoft Outlook errors that occurs when you try to send or receive mails from your outlook account and you suddenly see the progress dialog box displaying the error " Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for (ME)@gmail.com.' reported error (0x80048002) : 'This task was cancelled before it was completed.' After getting this error message, you may not be able to send or receive email from the outlook. To fix this error message, follow the given instructions.

Step1: Go to the File menu>> Options and then click on Advanced in the Outlook Options window. In the Outlook Options window, scroll down to the Send and receive heading and click the “Send/Receive” button on the right hand side.

Step2: After clicking the “Send/Receive” button, Send/Receive Groups window will open up. Click the Edit button which is on the right hand side of this window.

Step3: Uncheck the box next to "Get folder unread count for subscribed folders".

Step4: Under Received mail items, check the "User the custom behavior defined below" option.

Step5: In the window below that displays your Gmail folders, click to select Inbox and leave other folders unchecked.

Step6:  Click the OK button and then exit the Outlook Options window.

Tip of the Day: Sometimes virus scanners integrate themselves with the Outlook emails and cause send or receive issues too. So, if you have a virus scanner on your computer, disable it.
