How to fix Error 0x80040116 in Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft outlook can give the error 0X80040116 when attempting to start or when you are trying to open a .PST file. Normally this error is related to an Outlook .pst file. This error message may occur for various reasons like - corrupt or damaged .pst file or when it is full. Step1: If Outlook is open, then close it.

Step2: From the 'Start' menu, choose 'Search' option. Type 'Scanpst.exe' in Search box and hit the Enter key or Search button.

Step3: Double click the 'Scanpst.exe' file.

Step4: Locate the corrupt file and start repairing.

Step5: Once the file is repaired, you can see the message "Repair Complete." you can now Open Microsoft Outlook.
